Any SUV driver in Ogdensburg, Canton, and Massena would appreciate the features of the 2022 Chevy Blazer or 2022 Ford Edge. With impressive performances and fun technology, these sleek SUVs deliver a ride that you won’t soon forget.
To see how the two may differ, the team at Bill Rapp Chevrolet of Ogdensburg decided to look at the Chevy Blazer vs. Ford Edge to see which one may be the better choice for you!

PASSENGERS

EPA-ESTIMATED MPG RATING

TOWING CAPACITY

Looking at the engine options, both models offer two. The 2022 Chevy Blazer offers more customization, however. Its available engine can be equipped to three trim levels, while the available engine of the Ford Edge is only available with one trim.
Also, the engines on the Blazer will come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Edge’s engines, on the other hand, will come with either an 8-speed or 7-speed automatic transmission.
The 9-speed automatic transmission works hard to optimize the Blazer’s efficiency. In fact, it can achieve an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG. The Edge only manages an EPA-estimated 21 city/28 highway MPG.

Capability is another aspect to consider, given that you want a sturdy vehicle that can handle different tasks. Both models come with an all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration that will provide enhanced stability.
The Chevy Blazer, however, offers a Driver Mode Selector, which you won’t find on the Ford Edge. With this system, you have your choice among five drive modes, including available AWD, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road. There is also the Tour mode, which utilizes front-wheel drive, as well as Sport, which gives more of a boost. While the Ford Edge ST trim offers a Sport mode, you won’t find a selector system like on the Blazer.
Looking at towing potential, the Blazer provides more towing power. If you opt for the Chevy Blazer, you’ll be able to tow a maximum of 4,500 pounds when properly equipped. On the other hand, the Ford Edge falls short by only allowing you to carry up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

The Blazer and Edge have similar technology features, including standard Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, a standard Wi-Fi® hotspot, and their own proprietary app.
The Chevy model also offers Teen Driver technology. If you have some new drivers in the family, this may be an especially helpful feature to have on hand.
When one of your newer drivers gets behind the wheel of the Blazer, they won’t be able to go anywhere until they buckle their seatbelt thanks to the Buckle to Drive feature. Plus, you can decide how fast they’re allowed to go and how high they can crank the audio volume. When they arrive back home, you can then review the in-vehicle report card to see how they did.
Unfortunately, you won’t find this sort of feature on the Ford Edge.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer is a formidable SUV for any driver in Ogdensburg, Canton, and Massena. With its varied selection of trims and engines, superior towing capacity, and innovative Teen Driver technology, it can serve families well as they head out on all kinds of adventures.
